This is fun
I'm writing this post from my Crackberry. How fun! Ok, granted it's not the easiest or most efficient way to do it...but it's my new toy, and I had to at least try it once!

I'm doing my part for the economy
Not really because I want to.
First, the graphics card in my computer died - a slow, lingering death. (Which is why it's been a while since my last post!) Off to Best Buy we went, to spend $100 on a new card - instead of $500 for a new computer. Only problem...my 5 year old computer has PCI and AGP slots, but the latest-greatest is PCI-Express. So I had exactly TWO options to chose from. Oh yeah.
Then, today, hubby and I upgraded cellphones and service. I got a BlackBerry Curve - and boy oh boy, do I understand why they call them CrackBerrys. It's fun, and addicting, and...yeah.
But heck, if I can figure out how to post to my blog from my BB...this could be great!

Can I rhapsodize a bit?
I'm not sure what kind of post this is...it's kinda personal, but also sort of featuring an Etsian.
About a month ago, I submitted an Etsy alchemy request (for non
-etsy people, that's basically a custom order bidding process). I work out 3-4 times a week, and have used the same boring, ugly, blue duffel bag from Target for almost 4 years now.

So I submitted a request for something new and fun - and stylish of course. I got a TON of bids, with great ideas and beautiful fabrics (so hard to chose). Finally decided to go with SimplySavvy - I could pick my own fabric, and have vinyl on the bottom to endure the yucky gym floors.
Picking a fabric was hard...there are so many gorgeous styles out
there, and of course a wide range of colors. I was looking for something that was all-season, funky, a little girly...not too big a print, but not too small...tough work. It took probably 2 solid weeks of browsing to find exactly what I wanted - and then another 10 days or so to make the tote - but now I have it, and can't be more pleased!

I've added a pic at the bottom of everything I can put in this tote - it's amazingly capacious. I'm a bit of a label snob when it comes to clothes and accessories, so I know quality work when I see it - and the sisters of SimplySavvy did an EXCELLENT job. Strong seams, clean lines. Plus extra pockets sized just right for accessories!

I love my new bag - I actually want to go to the gym just to show it off!

It's Been a Busy Weekend
And not just because of all the Easter festivities.
Saturday, I met a fellow Etsy jewelry maker - Rachel of Oak Moon Designs. We had a fun hour and some talking and bead shopping in downtown Hillsboro. We even hit an antique store and browsed the cases...and I found a vintage necklace I can't wait to repurpose! Great chance for us both to spend kidless time on a gorgeous Saturday - and I hope we can do it again soon.
Tomorrow will be busy in another way. I have several items to list in my ebay store (including some great Coach sunglasses), and I need to finish writing the Monday feature. Makes me tired just thinking about it - guess I'll head for bed!

This was also a weekend of finishing projects. I finally got the pearl toggle attached on my embroidered cuff. I won't be selling it- it's not quite perfect, but was a lot of fun to make. I can't decide if it's worth it to perfect my skills on this kind of cuff...it sure was a LOT of work! Still, I like it enough to keep for myself - it's kinda cute, if slightly imperfect!
I also completed a set of dangly earrings and a peridot pendant I've been thinking about for some time now. Pictures of both are posted here, and both are available for sale in my Etsy store.

Yah for new Business Cards!
I'm inordinately please by this...I feel like Steve Martin in the Jerk..."The new phone books are here, the new phone books are here!"
But...here's my new business cards, professional printed and everything! (Bit washed out by the flash....and that's my 5 year old holding it)

Check out my first creations!
I put together 2 new "Kids Jewelry Kits" with input from my daughter. Still need to tweak the listing titles and such, but....what do you think?
