Friday - Woo Hoo!

I'm so glad - it's been a long week.

I've been a jewelry making fool - finished a custom request, made two pairs of earrings for my brother's fiance, and even created a necklace for my etsy store. Oh, and got my stepdaughter started on a bracelet for her mom.

I've also been busy with ebay - buying items, taking pictures, listing...and thankfully, shipping out sold stuff too. A good 'problem' to have, and I'm very glad the sales seem to be picking back up after a DRY April.

Still, I'm glad for the weekend...could use some rest! But first, I must survive...

BUNCO NIGHT

How do I wind up in this predicament? I'm not on the normal monthly roster of players, rather I'm more like a sub they call every other month. It's usually 3 or 4 days ahead, and it always sounds good at the time. (Girls only time, oh yeah!)

But then the Friday arrives...and I'm exhausted. Or I have my CSI recorded from the night before, and really want to see it. Or maybe I'm just feeling antisocial. It just seems inevitable that I wake up Friday going "man, I have Bunco tonight" instead of "I'm so excited about Bunco tonight."

Maybe it's the people I play with. Mostly housewives from our neighborhood, with a few ladies from the outskirts of town. It's a mix of ages, with many my own age, but ranging up to late 50s (and the occasional 70-yr-old)...but I'm certainly not the only early-30s person. Is it because I *don't* stay home with the kids? That I'm a science geek who spent the 9 hours before the game talking engineer-speak?

The jewelry designer in me should be gleeful - I should be decking myself out in my latest creations, and handing out business cards. Just can't seem to manage it....

Thankfully, Bunco night always includes cocktails and chocolate. Nothing like a glass of wine or pina colada to loosen me up, and make the evening go by.

Which reminds me...I need to call my house-hubby and have him get MY finger food for tonight!

Last Day to Enter

Be sure to visit JLC Studio's Etsy shop, and leave a comment HERE about your favorite item. Drawing will be held after midnight PST today!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm very, very glad today is Friday. It's been a long week. Unfortunately, it's been a BAD Friday - not terrible, just not pleasant.
1. Almost ran out of gas, and I was of course already late to work
2. Came within inches of being sideswipped by a large truck, who suddenly pulled out of the break-down lane (no signal). The jacka$$ then TAILGATED me to his exit. Talk about being a bundle of nerves by the time I got to work.
3. Work...ugh. Let's just say nothing is working right, for no apparent reason.
4. I'm giving blood today. It's a great thing to do - but I HATE it. Stomach is knotted up.
5. Got an email from a customer. Some lovely earrings didn't survive shipping - and I tested that cement strength twice before shipping. So...not only will I have to rework, and figure out how to keep this customer happy (small gift?), but I need to investigate WHY. Did my cement go bad? Are any other creations at risk?!?

And it's only 10am...boy, I'm tempted to just not open email, and go hide in the ladies room until 5pm. But hey, I have these adorable pictures from Wednesday to look at...so I can force a smile.

Icky Friday

We had a great time at the beach yesterday - forgot the camera though, so I have no pictures to share.

Unfortunately, we've also been passing a cold around in the family...and since Mom still has to cuddle, hug, and kiss sick kids (heck, more than normal) I naturally have picked it up. Hours in the chilly, wet wind didn't help. I'm at work today, but ugh...feel yucky! So sorry, but today's post is short, rambly, and ... yeah, nonsensical. I don't think I spelled that right and don't care!

I've been running Etsy seller features for about a month now...and plan to continue for a bit, but I'm starting to wonder. Do people enjoy reading about them? Or do they come across as advertising? 'Cause if it's advertising - dang, I at least need to get some kind of PAY for it!

Let's finish this week in style...in case you haven't found this humor blog on your own, let me introduce you to The Mom Bomb. Go read her - she's much funnier than I, especially right now - and get a good laugh to make it through your weekend. See ya'll on Monday.

Are you on it?

I've been updating my blog roll today. It's a list of blogs, stores, and websites I just LOVE to browse.

Etsy is a great place to meet new people, and find new blogs - but I've also stumbled across a few through BlogCatalog and comment pages too.

So...I've added about 6 new blogs that I think are fun. They are mixed in with all my other blog roll favorites. Are you on the list? (If not...be sure to leave me a comment about why you should be!)

It's Friday, late afternoon. Time to go home, get some dinner, and relax from a LONG week at work. I hope you all enjoy your weekend, and be sure to come by on Monday for my DOUBLE FEATURE of great Etsy sellers!

Quick Friday 5pm thought

Ageing sucks. Big time. Yet, it's rather funny at the same time.

I mean, here I sit, at my exciting desk job, doing engineer-y things. Specifically, copying lots of measurement data into an Excel spreadsheet. Yee-haw, right?

And I'm bobbing my head along to my iPod while I do it; something, ANYTHING, to help relieve the tedium of 3 hours of data crunching.

While it plays a rather raunchy song by Nine Inch Nails. ('Animal' in case you must know)

Come on, laugh with me. Can you see some eyeglass-wearing, pocket-protector'ed geek from the 60's NASA glory days rocking out to "I want to f*** you like an animal..."? (YES, I do have headphones on!)

Got to go...just switched to Beyonce, and this geek can't type very well when Crazy In Love is playing...plus that data won't move itself!
